In the case between Ceylon Estate Staffs Union (representing workman S. A. Nandasena) and the Land Reform Commission (with later liability passing to the Janatha Estates Development Board—JEDB), the court addressed the enforceability of an arbitrator’s award for reinstatement and back wages following the transfer of Halpe Estate.
