The case between Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka and the Maldives (petitioner) and the President of the Labour Tribunal and Others (respondents) addressed whether the alleged waiver of diplomatic immunity under the Diplomatic Privileges Act, No. 9 of 1996, must be expressly proven or can be implied, as well as the role of mandatory internal appeal and arbitration procedures in employment disputes involving diplomatic missions.
