E-Pact International (Pvt) Ltd et al. v. Hatton National Bank PLC et al. – CA WRIT APPLICATION 262/2011-2011

In the case between E-Pact International (Pvt) Ltd, Suranjith Property Developers (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. J.A.S. Piyawardena, and Mrs. C. Piyawardena (Petitioners) and Hatton National Bank PLC along with its Chairman, certain directors, and a licensed auctioneer (Respondents), the court examined an application for writs of Certiorari and Prohibition under Article 140 of the Constitution of Sri Lanka. The dispute focused on judicial intervention regarding alleged actions by the Respondents. Both parties subsequently informed the court of an amicable settlement reached out of court, submitted the settlement terms, and the Petitioners moved to withdraw the application with no objection from the Respondents. The court held that, in light of the settlement and mutual consent, withdrawal of the applicati
