In the case between T.M. Asanka Priyadharshana Bandara and Herath Mudhiyanselage Achala Weerasuriya (Petitioners) and H.B.P. Anurakumara, Secretary, Nuwaragam Palatha East Pradeshaya Sabha, and the Nuwaragam Palatha East Pradeshaya Sabha (Respondents), the court addressed whether an injunction should be granted to prevent the Respondents from awarding a contract to a third party until an adjudicator was appointed, pursuant to the contract.
