Suriyarachchige Lakshman de Silva vs . Officer-In- Charge, Police Station Kiribathgoda – SC FR 09/2011-2011

In the case between Suriyarachchige Lakshman de Silva and B.M. Ajantha Weerasinghe (Petitioners) and a group of police officers including the Officer-In-Charge of Kiribathgoda Police Station, Crime Division officers, as well as the Attorney General (Respondents), the Supreme Court addressed violations of fundamental rights under Articles 11 and 13(1) of the Constitution concerning freedom from torture and arbitrary arrest or detention.
